Leroy’s Place (South Slope) Hours: Mon-Sun, 12-7pm Contact: (718) 369-4200 Description: Founded in 2009 by illustrator Serene Bacigalupi, Leroy’s Place began as a collection of “Monster Makeover” paintings—an endearing, ongoing series of vintage paintings that have been reimagined with the addition of original illustrations. In 2015, Bacigalupi teamed up with puppet designer, Jacques Duffourc, and together they began the journey of bringing the narratives in the paintings to life through puppetry, film, and installations. Beyond being a unique immersive environment, our Brooklyn Gallery boasts an outdoor courtyard for events, workshops, and other community-centered activities. Our on-site studio allows visitors to peek into our creative process, and to take a piece of it home. This multi-purpose and interactive space ushers in a new era of art galleries, making Leroy’s Place a cutting-edge destination for art, humor, and design. Website: https://leroysplace.com/about/
